Follow Up Well Checks

The traditional schedule of well checks  1,2,4,6,9,12,15,18m, 2y, 2.5y, 3y and then annually is followed.  In addition to a complete physical exam, the following is performed at each visit: a thorough review of your child’s diet (and moms as appropriate), bowel movements, sleep, supplements, growth and developmental milestones, appropriate parenting based on the child’s age, screen use, academics/sports, hours spent outside, interaction  with other family/daycare and what to expect between now and the next well check.

Well checks are critically important not only for a thorough physical exam but also to review what to expect in the coming months regarding your child’s growth and development. In the earlier years this includes important developmental milestones. For grade school children the focus shifts to diet/exercise/sleep/screen use and  social/emotional well-being at home, with friends and in school/educational settings.

For those many families who are home schooling it is strongly encouraged to maintain annual well checks (which are often missed as families don’t have the burden of handing in school health forms)

All families have access to text sick concerns to Jennie and sick visits are made with Jennie for the same day/next day as needed.
